Young Girl Sends “Daddy” On Scavenger Hunt & Has Everyone Bawling At The End.

We’ve all seen and heard stories of how powerful the moment a parent asks to adopt a child can be, but what about when it’s the other way around?

Last November, a young girl planned an unusual scavenger hunt for her stepdad, leaving notes at various locations in and around the house for him to find.

In each note, she left subtle hints about the “grand prize,” writing in the first that families “don’t have to match. You don’t have to look like someone else to love them.”

That leads Dad to the kitchen, where he finds and reads another note: “Not flesh of my flesh nor bone of my bone …”

Then to a workshop area outside: “You didn’t give me life, life gave me you.”

See where she’s going with all this? If he hadn’t caught on by then, he definitely did by the time he reached the courthouse. There his daughter stood, silhouetted against the lights at the top of the short staircase, holding out a final note.

Warming: get the Kleenex ready!

“My daddy is the best dad,” she reads. “He ran to me, not away from me.”

Watch as this young girl struggles to keep her tears in check so she can finish the rest of the note. Oh, and those two sheets of paper lying at her feet? Yep, adoption papers!

Share if you agree this is one of the best adoption stories you’ve ever seen!
