As the world battles the novel coronavirus, it’s important to remember that we’re all in this together, even when we’re in quarantine!
Most countries are urging their citizens to self-isolate so our healthcare systems aren’t overwhelmed. In Spain, where COVID-19 is hitting hard, the government has called for a mandatory lockdown, which made what this group of police officers did even more heartwarming!

In a now-viral moment that was captured by a family living in Algaida, Majorca, we hear the sound of sirens as two police cars appear on the deserted street. The cops park their vehicles and get out, which is when we first notice that one of them is carrying a guitar!
“We’ve come to sing!” one of them announces, much to everyone’s delight.
Sure enough, all five start belting out a classic Catalan children’s song called “Joan Petit.” It’s one that everyone knows in Spain, kind of like how all Americans know “Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes.”

Everyone in the neighborhood quickly joins in! Even though we can’t see them inside their apartments, we can hear their joyful voices loud and clear.
The cops sing the entire song right there on the street, complete with arm movements and a little dance they obviously coordinated. Best of all, their only goal is to amuse the people stuck inside, and this definitely does the trick.

At the end of their performance, the officers wave goodbye and get back in their cars, presumably to bring cheer to another block. What a selfless act of kindness! Thank you for everything you do!
