Keeping multiple kids entertained is no easy task, especially when some of them want a nap while the others are bursting with energy. Throw in being a single parent and, suddenly, keeping everyone happy feels even more impossible. Chris, also known as the_solodad on TikTok, understands this struggle well. Luckily, he’s become quite clever at creating solutions.

In one video, he shared that although his daughters were taking a nap, his son couldn’t keep still. When watching TV wasn’t enough, Chris came up with the perfect plan to ensure his son could get out his energy and not wake up the girls: With the use of a bike powered television!
Okay, so Chris didn’t actually create a television that is powered by a bike. What he did do, though, was tell his son that the bike he placed in front of the TV was giving it power and that he needed to pedal in order to keep watching. Not only was this method a success, Chris discovered a new activity his son enjoys doing!
“I told him he could stop but he said he wanted to exercise,” Chris shared.
