For a young woman named Sierra Sessions, her trusted best friend is none other than her grandma, Linda Merrill. Sierra describes Linda as “super rock ‘n roll,” and she is always amazed by how hip and with-the-times Linda is. For example, Linda isn’t just a proficient texter, she is a selfie queen!

Sierra and Linda recently got a taste of fame when Sierra’s tweet below, showing off Linda’s selfies, went viral.

But Sierra says those selfies were nothing unusual. Linda is always sending Sierra her best selfies, keeping her updated  on her life and letting her know how much she loves her.

The two have always been close, and Sierra even lived with her grandma during her “angsty teen phase” (her words). Now, Sierra is in her 20’s and says she and Linda are “closer than ever.”

“She’s my shopping buddy, my wine buddy, my hair products connoisseur,”said Sierra. “She’s one of my best friends.â€

Sierra is so grateful for her grandma and their friendship. Ever since her tweet went viral, Sierra has been encouraging others to spend more time with the elderly.

“A lot (of elderly people) maybe aren’t as accepting, but it’s worth trying to understand where they come from,” said Sierra. “Talking to them, listening to their stories.â€

For Sierra, spending time with her grandma has resulted in a beautiful friendship.
