Humuhumunukunukuāpuaʻa is a seafood and steakhouse restaurant in Wailea on the island of Maui in Hawaii. The name is difficult to pronounce because of its location. If you’re curious, it is “HOO-moo-HOO-moo-NOO-koo-NOO-koo-AH-poo-AH-ah.” Whether you can say the name or not, this is a prime location to visit because of its unique aquarium bar.

The restaurant is nestled near a beautiful beachfront lagoon with views of the Pacific Ocean. The Grand Wailea restaurant offers signature seafood dishes and steak prepared with sustainably sourced ingredients. The menu is available online, offering a breakfast buffet and dinner. Reservations are recommended.
The aquarium bar offers tiki-style craft cocktails. The bar is a real aquarium with real fish swimming under your elbows. You can watch the colorful fish swim while you enjoy your meal or a cocktail. We could identify a clown fish and a blue tang fish swimming together. You’ll recognize them as Nemo and Dory if you have children.
The aquarium bar is located under the thatch-roofed dining area. The visual effects are incredible, as the live fish swim leisurely while you dine. The array of fish includes tropical varieties that reside near coral reefs. Several small pieces of coral reef are visible along the bottom of the fish tank. As you sit in the restaurant, you can view a fantastic lagoon with incredible views in every direction.
Whether you live inside or outside the United States, adding this destination to your future vacation plans will enhance the adventure. The aquarium bar offers a unique opportunity to enjoy tropical fish swimming while you refresh your body. You can learn more about the area on the Grand Wailea Instagram page.
