The world needs more love right now, and Resound has plenty to go around.
Jessica Fox, Joseph Clarke, and Mariah Hargrove, three friends from Richmond, Virginia, were brought together by their shared faith — and their incredible voices! They make up a gospel trio called Resound, whose goal is “to echo God’s love, joy, and hope throughout the world.” That’s exactly what they did when they lit up the “America’s Got Talent” stage!
As judges Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Heidi Klum, and Howie Mandel quickly learned, this trio is serious about accomplishing their goal. They even quit their jobs to pursue their dream of becoming professional singers. While they can’t predict if they’ll come out on top, they have faith that they’re on the right path.
“Honestly, we just want to use our gifts to spread love, hope and joy,” Mariah said. “We think the world needs a little bit more of that.”
They couldn’t think of a better way to do so than by pouring their hearts and souls into a breathtaking rendition of Jackie DeShannon’s “What the World Needs Now.”
Their stunning voices had the audience riveted from start to finish! From their gorgeous harmonies to their heartfelt deliveries, every moment was as magical as it was emotional.
Not to mention, they brought every listener to their feet — including Simon Cowell!
“I love your voices so much,” he told them. “It was beautifully old-school.”
We can’t be the only ones with goose bumps! There are so many wonderful ways to describe this amazing trio, but we’ll say just this: They were clearly born to inspire the world with their voices. Good luck, Mariah, Jessica, and Joseph!
