She Held Out Her Sick Baby To Pope Francis, What Happened Is Miraculous.

Lynn Cassidy and her family stood for three hours in the pouring rain with one thing in mind – to see Pope Francis in Saint Peter’s Square. The popular Pontiff was there to greet fellow followers of the Church, until something made him stop and turn toward the Cassidy family.

Lynn’s husband was on the front row holding their 3-month-old baby Ave in his arms when a security guard made his way through the crowd to pick up little Ave and bring her to Holy Father Francis. The entire family was amazed to see the Pope take the child, speak a blessing then kiss her on the forehead.

But there was more to the story. The three-month-old was born with two holes in her heart that would limit her ability to develop like other children. The Cassidy family soon returned to the states and went about their lives, elated at what had transpired but still worried for their infant daughter.

At their next checkup with the cardiologist, something very interesting appeared on Ave’s echocardiogram: one of the holes in her heart had completely closed, and the other was well on its way to doing the same! Amazed, elated and thankful, Lynn Cassidy had one thing to say to Pope Francis if she ever got the chance:

“Thank you for spreading the message that all life is precious, even life that seems like it might have struggles and issues like Ava. Like our daughter, all life is precious – we just thank you for spreading that message because people need to hear that.”
