Bill Losasso was born with a giving spirit.
The Florida pastor has made it his life’s mission to help people in need. From spreading hope throughout local communities to giving his neighbors something to smile about, Bill is happiest when he’s serving others. He even turned his birthday into a special treat for residents of St. Petersburg!

For Bill’s 73rd birthday, his daughter surprised him with an ice cream truck. Decades ago, Bill drove one at 17 years old and loved every second of it, so she decided to rent one for a day. Bill jumped at the chance to serve ice cream again, but with a sweet twist. He refused to let customers pay a dime for their desserts!
“Out here they don’t get ice cream very often,” Bill told FOX 13. “We had people tell us it’s been a year and a half since they had any ice cream and little kids said that.”

Generosity is something that comes naturally to Bill. He’s the founder of the Florida Dream Center, a nonprofit dedicated to helping communities affected by homelessness, hunger, poverty, addiction, and human trafficking. The organization donates 25,000 pounds of food every week, and more than 1.5 million pounds a year.

That’s why Bill couldn’t let this opportunity go to waste. That Saturday, he handed out hundreds of treats, brightening the entire community’s day.
“It’s beautiful, it’s great, it’s a blessing,” said Melvin Hillman, who drives the truck year-round. “I thank God I’m here to be a part of it. We have more people like him in the world it will definitely be a better world.”
