Paris Williams of Kirkwood, Missouri, cares deeply about other people, especially those who are often overlooked by society.
The 6-year-old inspires her parents every day with her incredible propensity for kindness and generosity. After all, she’s the reason hundreds of strangers in need have something to smile about!
Last year, Paris approached her mom, Alicia Marshall, asking how she could make a difference for people living on the streets.
“She was reading books at school about giving and she came home one day, and she was like, ‘I want to give back to the homeless. What can we do to help the homeless?'” Alicia explained.
They put their heads together and decided on filling care packages with food, water, and other essential items. Paris ended up calling them Paris Cares Packages, and each one comes with a cute drawing or sweet note to brighten the recipient’s day.
Since then, Paris and her parents have delivered more than 500 packages to homeless people in their community!
When the novel coronavirus pandemic began, they had to switch to no contact drop-offs, but their gifts are made with no less love.
They haven’t stopped there either! Paris has donated around 250 meals to essential workers and has big plans to give out food and toys during Thanksgiving and Christmas.
What’s more, she even launched her own charity! The Paris Cares Foundation is set to become an official nonprofit soon. In the meantime, she’ll keep spreading kindness as much as she can.
“It makes me really proud because with everything that’s going on in the world this small child who is entering first grade has such a big heart,” Alicia said. “She wants to give. She wants to help others.”
