Who was your sports hero while growing up? And did you ever dream of the day when you might get to compete head-to-head with him or her? For world #1 ranked golfer Rory McIlroy, his dreams actually came true.

This beautifully inspiring Nike commercial tells the story of how Rory grew up dreaming to be like former world #1 Tiger Woods. Rory had Tiger posters in his bedroom and constantly watched Tiger compete in tournaments on TV. He even developed his own version of the Tiger fist pump when he sank big putts.

Looking up to your hero is one thing, but working just as hard or even harder to become like him is a different story. Rory’s rise to the top paints a moving picture of the capabilities deep within us if we work hard and press on towards our dreams. Talent is, of course, important, but you’d be wrong to think Tiger and Rory got to the top spot without putting in the most work.
