Nemo The Orangutan Builds Her Own Hammock, I’m In Awe!

An orangutan named Nemo at a zoo in Thailand was caught on camera being particularly creative on Christmas Eve. The prolific primate fashioned himself an early Christmas present using only an old blanket and the bars of his enclosure. The result? A legitimate and quite comfy looking hammock.

In reality, Nemo created two hammocks… but the first seemed to lack adequate headroom for a comfortable snooze. Naturally, he gave the project a second go.

Orangutan is the Malay term for  “person of the forest,” according to National Geographic. The species only lives in Borneo and Sumatra, where they are critically endangered. The WHO estimates that only 45,000-69,000 of these amazing creatures remain today.

Watch Nemo string up his hammock and share if you were impressed!
