Mourning Teen Got Off Prom Bus, But Who She Found Waiting Left Her Heart Full.

It was in 2014 that Aleena lost her father, Charlie Kondak, to a tragic accident. Kondak, a police officer of Tarpon Springs, Florida, was doing a routine call when he was shot and killed. His daughter was devastated by his death. Immediately, strong support systems came together to her aid. The teen says that since the accident, they often text her, asking how she’s doing.

Two years later and Aleena is already old enough to go to prom. It’s an event that is so special for parents, to see their kids dressed in suits and sparkly dresses, but the sweet girl missed that having that experience with her dad. But with the great amount of love surrounding Aleena, the group of officers put together an unforgettable surprise.

When she got off the bus, about to walk into her prom, she looked up to find all of them waiting for her with a poster of she and her dad. It was a very emotional moment for everyone and Aleena couldn’t have been more thankful for all of their efforts. It was like her dad was there with her.  As the reporter notes in the video, “Not many dry eyes from the men and women… watching the surprise moment for the teen.”

This gesture of unity will be remembered forever as a priceless memory. She misses her dad every day, but having such strong protection helps more and more.
