University of Michigan is touted as having the best musical theatre program in the nation. Every year, graduates of the program end up on television, in films, and on Broadway. Combine that with their insane marching band– introduced in this video as “the best marching band in collegiate history”– and you’re in for a real treat.

In the film below, Michigan’s marching band teams up with Musical Theatre majors, Dance majors, and the Steel Pan Ensemble to create a “Broadway halftime spectacular.” And it certainly is spectacular! The performers wowed everyone at the Michigan vs. Penn State with musical numbers from Gerswhin’s classic “I’ve Got Rhythm” to contemporary numbers like “Let It Go” from Disney’s Frozen. Each number more flawless than the last!
All in all, the performers covered seven songs. “I’ve Got Rhythm,” “All That Jazz” from Chicago, “Under the Sea” from Little Mermaid (on the drums), “76 Trombones” from The Music Man, a spectacular trio of “Defying Gravity” from Wicked, Frozen‘s “Let It Go,” and finally a Broadway version of the Michigan fight son, “The Victors.”
Between the singing, tap dancing, and the marching band’s incredible formations… This was certainly a halftime for the books!
