It takes a lot to get inside Simon Cowell’s head, but mentalist Max Major seems to have him all figured out.
“America’s Got Talent” recently hosted virtual auditions to keep everyone safe during the novel coronavirus pandemic. Now, they’re back with a new socially-distant format, and their contestants are bringing their A game!
Judges Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, Simon Cowell, and Sofía Vergara now sit far apart outdoors and watch people compete as if they are at a drive-in movie. Host Terry Crews joins them from a safe distance.
During the “Judge Cuts” episode, they brought Max back for another performance. In his first audition, he managed to tune into Vergara’s mind. Cowell mentioned wanting to be involved in the future, so this time around, Max turned his attention to the skeptical judge.
First, Max showed off a sealed envelope, which he put to the side for the end of his act. Next, he pulled out five cards, featuring a picture of Crews and each judge.
After placing them facedown on the table, he asked Cowell a series of questions, including what trait he admires most (loyalty). He also asked the judge to think about a prized possession he would never sell, so Cowell described a photo of his son. Finally, Max requested a favorite childhood memory, which involved a set of toy cars.
Once all the questions were answered, it was time for some magic! Max revealed that Cowell had selected each of his fellow cast members in the exact order the mentalist had planned! That was astounding enough by itself, but he was just getting warmed up! Remember that envelope he set aside? Well, you guessed it….
To say that Cowell was amazing is an understatement! His mouth fell open as Max pulled each scarily-accurate prediction from his envelope.
“I have to say this, because this is one of the most astonishing things I’ve ever seen,” Cowell said. “I mean, it was seriously incredible.”
How did he do that?! We’ll never know, and Max will never tell. The good news is we get to see more of him in the live rounds of the competition!
Watch the epic moment that left Cowell speechless in the video below, and don’t forget to share this story.
