We walk past countless people every day without saying so much as a “hello.” We all live busy lives, of course, and don’t have time to stop and share a conversation with every stranger who crosses our path.
That said, sometimes, it feels great to receive a little encouragement from someone we don’t know. Just ask Twitter user Paul Stys, who caught the most wholesome interaction while recording himself playing basketball in his driveway.
Paul uploaded the video to Twitter with the caption, “Watch if you’re having a rough day.” In it, we see Paul shooting the ball. His postal carrier just so happens to be driving up at that very moment and notices the ball sink into the net. She gets so excited for him she starts egging him on for another shot.
“Let me see you. What you got? Let’s see what you got!” she enthuses, hyping him up. Paul starts running toward the net, jumps… and scores a slam dunk! You’d think the mail woman was sitting in courtside seats at an NBA tournament by the way she adorably freaks out over Paul’s dunk.
She screams and cheers Paul on before calling him over to her truck and congratulating him on the awesome move. The entire exchange lasted less than a minute, but it made Paul’s entire day.
Over the course of just a couple of days, Paul’s video amassed millions of views. Thousands have commented showing their love for the mail lady with the bright personality.
“I love people like this. We need more people like her randomly hyping people up and just generally being super positive in our communities,” one Reddit user wrote.
This story just goes to show that people really appreciate being supported, whether by a loved one or even a complete stranger. Keep it up, sweet mail lady, whoever you are. You do a fantastic job of not only delivering the mail but also making people smile!
Watch as Paul receives unexpected but very welcome praise below, and share to brighten others’ days!
