Would you help?
It’s easy to let your thoughts get tied up in your plans: what you need to do, who you need to see, where you need to go. We have all been there before. But do we pull out of this self-centered thought spiral when we see someone in need?
In this bustling world of virtual connection, it can be a challenge to make a human connection with those directly in front of us.
A group in London was interested in this human connection. To test if we are in fact losing it, they filmed a social experiment to answer the question, “Would you help?” In the video, they set up three scenarios:
1- An elderly woman with a heavy suitcase and a cane approaching a flight of stairs.
2- A man asleep on a subway holding a sign asking someone to wake him up at a certain stop.
3- A man bumps into a young woman knocking her groceries out of her hands.
