Couple Married For 63 Yrs Shares Tear-Jerking Birthday Reunion After Quarantine.

Because people over 60-years-old are considered high risk for coronavirus, care facilities have implemented strict lockdowns that have left residents lonely and family unable to visit their loved ones. Beverley Lindell had been visiting her husband of 63 years every day in his rehab care facility until the lockdown occurred.

As her 84th birthday rolled around, Beverley wasn’t especially excited because she was still separated from her husband. Unbeknownst to her, her daughter and husband had a sweet surprise planned.

Beverley and her husband, Jerry got married when they were just 20 years old, and haven’t stopped unconditionally loving each other since. After Jerry was hospitalized and sent to a rehab care facility to heal, Beverley rode a bus every day to go visit her sweetheart. After the lockdown, she would often cry because she missed him so much.

Knowing how hard the separation had been on her parents, Loriee Barnes teamed up with her dad to plan a surprise for Beverley’s birthday. Jerry was set to be released from rehab and Loriee planned to pick him up and bring him back to their house.

After arriving at her mom’s house, Loriee started filming a video of her dad surprising her mom. Loriee later shared the video on her Facebook page saying, “We have had a rough year, but I brought my dad home from the nursing home for my mom’s birthday present. Life is so awesome!!”

In the video, Jerry walks through the door holding a bouquet of flowers and Beverley stands there stunned before hugging him and sobbing of sheer happiness to be reunited with her love.

To no one’s surprise, the video quickly went viral. In an interview with a local news station, Beverley said that when she saw Jerry, “I couldn’t wait to grab him, so we hugged each other, and I cried and cried and cried” and Jerry said that seeing his wife after so long, “It’s something I’ll never forget.”

Grab some tissues (because you’ll be crying right along with Beverley) and watch the sweet reunion above. Be sure to share the story with your friends, too.
