Overcoming the odds is something the Miller family does quite often.
Stephen and Amanda Miller have adopted seven beautiful children from all over the world, many of whom have health problems. Along the way they keep the world up to date on their adventures on their popular blog, Grace For The Millers.

Amanda and Stephen are the proud parents to Reese, Keira, Penelope, Jude, Liam, Ethan, and Lincoln. As the baby of the family, Lincoln has also suffered the most health trouble of any of their kids. He was diagnosed with Moya Moya disease, a rare vascular disease that cuts off oxygen to the brain. This condition lead to cerebral palsy, several strokes and left side hemiplegia, which made it impossible for the little boy to walk for most of his life.
All that recently changed, however, in what Stephen and Amanda are calling a miracle!

Lincoln has had two brain surgeries and hundreds of hours of physical and occupational therapy. Amanda says that just one year ago, he couldn’t even put weigh on his feet without being in agony, yet in a video she shared recently Lincoln is confidently taking some of his first steps on the family’s front porch!
As his siblings cheer him on and wait with open arms, Lincoln totters away from Amanda and make his way across the porch several times. Recent videos on the family’s Instagram page show the little guy trying out stairs for the first time, and otherwise navigating the world around him in all the ways his family wasn’t sure would ever happen.

“A year ago he was screaming and throwing a fit just to have to put weight on his feet,” said Stephen. “So, to see him come this far, it’s amazing guys! We are so blown away. It’s a miracle. He is just working so hard.”
Lincoln’s smiling mom couldn’t wait to jump in and agree with her husband. “He was not even standing or able to put weight on his feet last year, and now he’s walking all over the place, he’s so steady, just running around keeping up with his big brothers and sisters. It’s absolutely a miracle, guys.”

Way to go, Lincoln! Something tells us that all the love and support he’s getting from home had a little something to do with how well he’s doing now. It’s amazing what modern medicine, will power, and a whole lot of love can do!
