High School Wrestler Helps Teen Who Can’t Walk Win His 1st Match.

Nothing can keep Kyle Bratcher from his love for sports – not even cancer.

The teen from Del City, Oklahoma, grew up playing baseball and golf and dreamed of riding dirt bikes with his dad, but physical activities seem impossible now because he can’t control much of his body. Still, with a little help from a friend, Kyle has become a wrestling star!

Kyle was diagnosed with a brain tumor as a child and underwent chemotherapy and multiple surgeries. While the radiation put him in remission, it also caused his brain to swell, leaving him unable to walk.

Over time, Kyle became the Del City Wrestling team’s biggest fan. So when the high school athletes held their Senior Night, they knew it wouldn’t be complete without him. That’s why his friend Trent Owens helped him compete in – and win – his first-ever wrestling match!

In a video, we see that Trent is holding Kyle steady while they give their audience an unforgettable show. First, he lowers Kyle onto the floor, but just when Kyle’s defeat seems imminent, he turns the tables on Trent!

The pin only lasts a few seconds before the referee hits the ground to signal Kyle’s victory. Immediately, the crowd bursts into cheers.

After all, this moment had become so much more than a wrestling match. It was a collective act of love!

Kathy Dunn, who recorded the match, summed up the crowd’s feelings perfectly, writing, “Watching Kyle cheer for his Eagle brothers has warmed my heart. Watching him win has warmed my soul!”

As for Kyle, it’s clear this meant the world to him. He even came away with an awesome new nickname: Kyle The Hammer.
