Just when we think Kristen Bell couldn’t be more of an angel, she does something else to make us love her even more.
There are many reasons to adore the talented actress, from her effervescent personality to her sweet relationship with her husband, Dax Shepard. But perhaps one of the most important is how she’s using her Instagram following to help deserving teachers across the U.S.

Every Friday, Bell posts the story of a teacher in need of school supplies as part of her #FeaturedTeacherFriday campaign. She’ll usually include a link to said teacher’s wish list of items. And with her posts reaching millions, there’s always an amazing outpouring of support.
One of Bell’s most recent features is Emily Mayberry, a first year kindergarten teacher at Woodland Park Academy in Flint, Michigan. Woodland Park is a Title I school, meaning most of its students live below the poverty line.
“Some of our families struggle to have their basic needs met,” Emily wrote in Bell’s post. “Our school is small and our teachers have some of the lowest paid salaries in our area.”

When Emily set up her classroom this year, the only supplies she had were tables and chairs. So she used her own money to purchase what she and her students needed. She also says that because her students spend the majority of their days traveling to and from school, it’s “important to make my classroom feel like a home away from home for my students.”
“Our mission at Woodland Park Academy is to ‘Create Relationships to Change the World,'” Emily added. “For me, fostering these relationships means giving 100 hugs a day, checking in on older students on my lunch, telling students every day that I love them, and listening when they have something to say. It means never losing sight of how even the smallest act of kindness or understanding may change someone’s life.”

But as Bell encouraged her followers, it was Emily’s turn to be on the receiving end of kindness. And boy, did they come through. Packages began flooding into the school so fast that the postal service couldn’t keep up!

Less than a week later, hundreds of boxes filled the principal’s office, all packed with much-needed school supplies.

“I can’t even fathom how generous people have been to somebody that they don’t even know,” Emily said. And it’s thanks to the wonderful actions of Bell, who always uses her fame for good.
