Chief Municipal Judge Frank Caprio never seems to have a problem issuing orders on the assorted civil and criminal matters that come before his court on ABC’s Caught in Providence. But when he had trouble deciding what to do about a parking citation recently, he asked the defendant’s young son for advice.
The unidentified man in Judge Caprio’s court owns a pizza parlor in Rhode Island and got a ticket after illegally parking to make a delivery.

For some reason, he brought his 5-year-old son, Jacob, to his court appearance and, moments after his case was called, young Jacob was seated on Caprio’s lap.

“I have three choices. I can fine him $90, I can charge him $30, or I can charge him nothing. What do you think I should do?â€
He shifted the microphone to Jacob who, after a second’s pause, decreed a $30 fine.
Caprio praised his middle-of-the-road choice, but thought of something better: If his father agreed to take Jacob out to breakfast — but “I want you to order a lot of stuff,”he noted — the judge would dismiss the ticket altogether.

“Is that a good deal?”the 79-year-old judge asked Jacob.
“Yeah, ’cause I love bacon,”the youngster replied.
What a kind-hearted judge– and what a sweet introduction to the judicial system for the little guy!
