Busy moms know this to be true: your purse becomes a catch-all for all of the debris of life.
You just never know what you’ll find in the depths of the average mother’s purse, from breath mints to antacids, and everything in between. Kids soon learn that they can stash their things in mom’s purse, too, which definitely adds to the strange assortments of belongings that might turn up during the course of a handbag clean-out session.

Actress Jennifer Garner is a mother of three, so she knows a thing or two about what it’s like to find inexplicable items hiding out in your purse.

On her popular Instagram page, Jennifer often shares interesting glimpses into her life as a glamorous Hollywood actress, but she also keeps things surprisingly real. Sure, you might see Jen giving fans a sneak preview of her Academy Awards gown:

But you will also see her looking exhausted and wearing no makeup.

Or sharing her recipe for kale chips, which honestly sound pretty tasty.

You can even spot her taking her chicken for a walk on a leash, which, now that I’m typing it out, seems a lot less relatable than these other examples. Still adorable, though!

Jennifer seems just like us! In spite of her fame and fortune, she’s just a mom trying to make it through the day.
Back to that cluttered purse, though. In a video Jen shared, she dug through her favorite purse to reveal the strange assortment of kid-related clutter.

“On today’s episode of ‘What’s In My Bag?’ we explore the depths of my favorite backpack,”she says as she starts pawing through the purse. First off, she finds lots of heart-shaped stickers, because of course! Every mom’s backpack has a few stickers hanging around.

Then come the pens. So. Many. Pens.
“I really like pens,” Jen says simply.

She’s got an old fashioned address book in there, a random honeycomb/stirrer (even she doesn’t know what it’s for), and even more heart stickers.
But the best thing she unearths? A random geode. Because of course!

“Why though?” She giggles. We don’t know, Jen, but we think it’s hilarious, too!
Could she BE any more relatable? I don’t think so!
