Grocery Store Worker Rushes To Dog Stuck In Sudden Downpour.

We’ve all been there: You’re out walking the dog and realize you have to duck into the store real quick. But dogs aren’t allowed inside.

It’ll just be a minute or two, so you just tie the leash to a nearby post and promise your pup you’ll be back in a sec. But what happens when, during the short period you’re in the store, the skies burst open and unleash a flood of torrential rain? There’s not much you can do except pick up the pace and beg for forgiveness.

That was pretty much the scenario behind a clip that went viral last week. Stephen McIntosh was sitting in his car just outside a store in Finaghy, Ireland, when he saw a young man walk into the pouring rain. That’s when he noticed the poor pooch tied to a nearby post.

He watched as the man approached and gently place a red-and-black jacket over the shivering dog.

It was such a heart-warming moment, he knew he had to share it but he didn’t know the man’s name. So he tried to find out.

And this considerate gentleman has since been identified as 19-year-old Luke Carlin. He and a co-worker spotted the dog outside the store shortly after it started to rain, he explained, and decided one of them should go outside and provide him with some cover. The owner had run in to grab something when the sky opened up.

Thankfully another co-worker bent the rules a little, and decided to just bring the poor pooch inside.

Luke has been so surprised by the response,”The reaction has been so crazy!”

Stephen, too, has been shocked:

It’s been crazy how fast it went viral and I didn’t expect it in anyway. But I guess it shows how much people appreciate a genuine act of kindness no matter what it is!

Yes they do, and sometimes, it’s the simple gestures that seem to count the most. It’s no wonder this clip’s gotten so much attention and lifted so many hearts.
