Losing a pet can be very stressful – it can turn into hours, days, months, or even years of agony, all the while hoping that the beloved animal will come back home.
With that being said, very few people can say that losing their pet is one of their favorite memories. And, yet, Chelsea Blackwell is able to say just that!
Chelsea’s dog, Blue, was playing in the backyard with her other dog, Ladybug, when they both managed to get out. After calling out their names, only Ladybug came back home. This prompted Chelsea to go on a stressful search for her precious dachshund in the streets of Albany, New York.
During her search, Chelsea noticed a crowd of people with cameras and even police cars.
“I pulled over and thought, oh man, did someone get shot?” she said.
Thankfully, Chelsea’s suspicion turned out to be wrong. It was actually a movie crew filming near the Greyhound bus station. But this story only gets better… it turns out that the one and only Hilary Swank found Blue and was on her way to bring her back to her momma!
“I was like, ‘No way,'” Chelsea said. “As soon as she got out of the car, I kissed Blue and said, ‘Thank you so much.'”
She then proceeded to ask the two-time Oscar winner for an autograph, but she got a picture instead!
“God bless you,” Chelsea captioned their photo on Instagram. “Beginning of a tragic time of my life, with a beautiful ending … keep shining and being such a wonderful person.”
This isn’t the first time Swank has helped a dog. She has a foundation named Hilaroo that pairs rescue animals with young people that “have been given up on by society to create meaningful connections.”
Apart from being a great actress, Swank has shown that she is even more than that: She’s an amazing human being!
We’re so glad Blue is back with her momma, and we’re sure this is a memory she will never forget! Thanks to Blue’s naughty’s actions, Chelsea got to meet one Hollywood’s most loved actors!
