It would be nice if families were always able to spend time together during the holidays. Unfortunately, quite a few people will have a lonely holiday season due to factors like distance from their relatives.

But one grandfather got a very merry surprise thanks to his children and grandson.

As YouTuber kelseywilbert explained, the grandpa in the video had no idea his family was coming. She also shared that it took a 17-hour drive to make this holiday miracle happen.
Well, the look on grandpa’s face when greeted by his grandson no doubt made the tiring car ride worth it!

After being left speechless for a few moments, the visibly-moved grandfather came out onto the porch and greeted his grandson.
The other relatives chuckled in response to his reaction, but also seemed to tear up as well. The grandpa was so overwhelmed with joy, he actually picked up and held his grandson for a long time.

“Merry Christmas, Buddy!” the happy grandfather sobbed.
We can only imagine how long it’s been since he’s seen his grandson or children, and to have the chance to be together with them at Christmas is no doubt awesome.
