57-year-old George Hood just set a new world record for the longest-held abdominal plank. The Carlsbad, California native held the plank for a whopping 5 hours and 15 minutes! Quick fact: the world record that he beat was 4 hours and 23 minutes.
Imagine sitting through the entire Rocky movie twice and still having an hour left to your thoughts… while holding a plank the entire time… and then you’ll have matched Hood’s record.
What’s even more amazing about this accomplishment? The entire purpose of this strenuous “activity” was to raise money for the Semper Fi Fund, a non-profit that raises money to support wounded members of the armed forces.
Hood is himself a retired Marine officer and DEA agent and currently holds seven other world records.
Of his incredible fundraising efforts he told CBS 8 News, “They’re my heroes, they really are, every one of them.”
If you believe in taking real action to help those in need, share this today!
