Social media can be a wonderful way to meet and connect with people from all over the world.
While it’s fun to get to know other like-minded individuals and forge friendships with people both far and near, social media can also offer a bit too much freedom for some. Case in point, an Imgur user named littlesb79 who discovered that her casual banter with a friend-of-a-friend on Facebook was heading in a dangerous direction.

Littlesb79 ran into this stranger while having a political discussion on Facebook. She didn’t think much of it when he sent her a private message, and since his intentions seemed innocent she occasionally chatted with him now and then about harmless topics. But one day he sent her a very different kind of message, and right away she knew something was awry.

“We should go out sometime,” he wrote her. When she failed to respond, he didn’t take it as the hint that it was and sent her a follow-up “?” the next afternoon. The woman proceeds to let him down gently while explaining she’s married.
That’s when he drops the real bomb: “OK so am I but we just won’t tell. It will be fun lol.”

Oh no he didn’t! But yes, he did. Not only that, but when she didn’t reply he sent her another message to prompt a response. The nerve of this guy!
Thankfully, our hero littlesb79 was not having any of it. Filled with righteous indignation, she sat down and typed him the following message.

“When I got diagnosed with cancer last year I didn’t have the heart to tell my boys (whom I have always protected) that I could die, my husband had to look in their eyes and say that I was sick. He subsequently took care of me during multiple surgeries, emptying drainage bags, giving me blood thinner shots, holding my hand while [I] was in pain and going to get chemo infusions. During this time there was a song lyric that would constantly loop in my head: ‘Love is watching someone die.’ So my question to you is… Who is going to watch you die? Get your house in order and please stop messaging me.”
That little blue check in the bottom right means he definitely saw her message, so let’s hope it gets through to him and he stops being such a terrible person. Let’s hope she also blocked him because life is way too short to deal with creeps like him.

Savage! We have a new internet hero, and her name is littlesb79! A quick glance at her posting history proves that her story checks out; she has gone through hell and back to recover from intestinal cancer caused by Lynch syndrome, and she is not about to sell out her husband for a cheap thrill.
We can all learn from her actions here, most notably: it shouldn’t take a cancer battle to make married people smack down a would-be cheater like this! Next time someone online sends you a suggestive message, remember littlesb79 and tell them to “get their house in order.”
Please share this message to spread this empowering message of trust and devotion even further.
