Ghost photoshoots are back this fall, but this time there’s a fun twist to the trend. If you’re not familiar with this social media sensation, it’s pretty simple. Every autumn, people have been dressing up in white sheets and taking pictures in aesthetic locations to celebrate the spooky season. However, someone recently discovered that, like most things in life, this activity is way better when you include your dogs!

Last year, a pet parent named Sarah decided to put together a ghost photoshoot with her tiny Italian greyhound, Granola. She placed a piece of white fabric over the pooch with holes cut out for her eyes and mouth. Then, she took some adorable photos of the four-legged specter appearing in the woods, inside a bookstore, and more!
One of the most surprising things about this ghost photoshoot was how well Granola behaved in her costume. She sat perfectly still while having her picture taken, not once trying to wriggle out of the sheet. Sarah told Newsweek that the entire process couldn’t have gone more smoothly, thanks to this sweet dog.
“When we put her ghost costume on for the first time, she just shoved her little snout right in and was perfectly content sitting there having her photo taken,” her owner said. “We are always sure to give her plenty of treats and praise, which makes her especially happy to participate.”
As soon as Sarah shared the results of this precious ghost photoshoot on social media, her video went viral. Everyone loved seeing Granola in her little costume! So, this dog mom knew she had to resurrect the trend. This year, you’ll notice a small adjustment to the pooch’s look. Sarah cut out holes for the pup’s ears, which somehow made the disguise even cuter!
Other dog owners have been following in Sarah’s footsteps, and their ghost photoshoots are equally cute. We hope this trend comes back again next year, too, because we can’t get enough!
