Sellam and her mom, Chouchou, from Ontario, Canada are possibly Ellen’s biggest fans. In a letter Sellam wrote to Ellen, she describes watching the show with her mother every day. She also describes her mother, telling Ellen that her mother is her rock, her world.

Ellen was so moved by Sellam’s letter– which Couchou didn’t even know her daughter had written– that she brought Sellam and Couchou on to the Ellen show. But they weren’t just there to watch from the audience; they were invited onstage to play Ellen’s “Wheel of Riches” game! Before playing, Ellen had Sellam read her touching letter aloud:

Dear Ellen,

My mother and I love you and watch your show together every day. We’ve been through so much and you kept us smiling through it all.

I want to tell you about my mother. After giving birth to me at a young age, she set aside her hopes, dreams, and her career to raise me all on her own. We have struggled financially and have experienced many more ups than downs, but my mother remained my rock; she is my world.

My mother and I love you, Ellen. Thank you for being an incredible role model and teaching me that it is better to give than to receive.

Chouchou is in tears hearing her daughters words, but moments later she is in a fit of happiness when Ellen surprises the loving mother-daughter duo with some incredible prizes, won in a clearly-rigged game of “Wheel of Riches.” Check it out below!
