Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, one thing has been clear – healthcare workers are short on much-needed supplies to keep themselves and their patients healthy as they work to stop the virus’ spread.
These medical professionals are often working long shifts that require a lot of physical energy and stamina. Hydration is key for anyone who hopes to make it through these shifts, so as a way to say thank you and to offer some kind of support, Dwayne Johnson partnered with Voss to donate more than 700,000 bottles of water.
Dwayne posted a video to his Instagram, personally thanking all of the healthcare professionals for their efforts and dedication to fighting the pandemic. In his caption, he wrote, “Thank you all for your tireless, caring efforts. Thank you for taking care of our friends, families and loved ones during this extremely challenging time.”
Voss shared Dwayne’s video on their Instagram as well, and shared how thankful they are to him and to the healthcare workers. They wrote, “We are proud to share today that we have surpassed our goal of 700,000 bottles of VOSS donated to the frontline around the world! Thank you @therock for helping us hydrate those working tirelessly on the frontlines and sharing this message of hope during these difficult times. Let’s continue to stay safe, healthy and hydrated – we’ll get through this together!
Dwayne also promised that the rest of us would do our part to help fight the spread of the virus. He said, “We, on our end will continue to be disciplined – wearing masks, being smart, social distancing etc. We must do our job.” Then, he closed it out with one more thoughtful message to the workers, one that couldn’t have been said better “Keep holding the line and stay strong. You inspire us all.”
Watch Dwayne’s video below where he personally thanks these workers and shares videos of them receiving the water, too. Share this story with your friends as a reminder to do whatever they can to help stop the spread.
