Customers See Cashier In Diabetic Emergency & Rush To Save Him.

When you’re a Type 1 diabetic, you’ve got to carefully monitor your blood sugar throughout the day. It only takes seconds for your levels to drop dangerously low, sending you into a diabetic arrest that can lead to death.

Customers at a convenience store in Vernon, Connecticut, were in the right place at the right time when they were in the presence of a cashier whose blood sugar plummeted unexpectedly at work. Security footage of the store shows the harrowing moments when the cashier suddenly keels over, causing the panicked customers to rush to his aid.

The man and the woman seen standing in line work at a restaurant next door to the convenience store. They’d just gotten off work and were picking up a few odds and ends when the cashier suddenly collapsed. You can see the startled expression on the woman’s face as she takes in the fact that he has collapsed, and as she turns to the men behind her in line, the reality of the situation dawns on them all simultaneously.

Without hesitation, the two men behind her dash to the door leading to the cashier’s area, barging through it and rushing over to speak to him. The cashier manages to get out that he has diabetes and needed sugar, so the woman quickly runs to the back of the store to grab an orange juice.

Seconds tick by as they wait for her to return with the life-saving sugary beverage. Almost as soon as the OJ hit his lips he regains full consciousness and the men help him up to his feet. You can tell they’re all so relieved to see his strength returning!

The cashier made a full recovery, but things could have been much worse if it weren’t for these everyday heroes. They say we’re sometimes put in the perfect place to help others at the perfect time, and that certainly seems to be the case with these good Samaritans.
