With COVID-19 continuing to spread, supply shortages are affecting communities around the world.
Essentials like toilet paper are more in demand than ever before, flying off shelves faster than stores can restock them. That’s why Cottonelle is encouraging the public to share with their neighbors during the global crisis. The brand is also doing its part to make sure everyone has the necessary items they need.
Cottonelle launched its #ShareASquare initiative in March, donating $1 million plus a million rolls of toilet paper to United Way Worldwide’s COVID-19 Community Response and Recovery Fund. The fund will give vulnerable families the financial help they need as well as access to food, shelter, and other social services. It’s the largest donation in the brand’s history.
Cottonelle has also pledged to donate an additional $1 (up to $100,000) for every social media post that includes the hashtag #ShareASquare. All people have to do is show how they’re sharing toilet paper with friends, neighbors, and others who need it. It’s a great way to not only empower the public to help, too, but make an even bigger difference!
“So, instead of stockpiling toilet paper, let’s stock up on generosity,” the company wrote in its #ShareASquare ad. “Because we know there’s no shortage of kindness.”
People have already begun sharing how they’re supporting fellow community members. Some may be hoarding toilet paper right now, but so many others are giving it away without a second thought! They’re among the true heroes of the coronavirus pandemic.
Times are tough, but it’s so uplifting to see people helping and caring for their fellow man. Cottonelle will continue donating through June 1, so be a kind neighbor and share a square today!
