Police arrested an alligator at a mall in Florida.

You know you’re in Florida when you see an alligator shopping at the mall! Police from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about a four-legged customer crawling around Coconut Point Mall in Estero. Florida Fish and Wildlife also arrived on the scene to escort the 12-foot alligator off the premises. According to a Facebook post from the sheriff’s office, the creature weighed in at 600 pounds!

“There truly is never a dull moment while on patrol here in Lee County, eh?” joked the caption.

Apparently, the large animal was on a budget. UPI tells us that the alligator was hanging out by the Florida mall’s Five Below store. While the media outlet couldn’t confirm where rescuers took the critter, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office assured users that they “got this massive guy to safety” in their Facebook post.

Next time this reptile wants to go shopping, he might want to try earning some spending money first. Perhaps he could get a job as an emotional support animal, like this alligator!
