Chick-Fil-A Worker Saves Man’s Forgotten Change To Return It Weeks Later.

Sometimes it just takes a tiny act of consideration to change your entire perspective.

When Daniel Cadra brought his young daughter, Molly, to eat at the local Chick-Fil-A branch in Lubbock, Texas, he never expected to have the cashier behind the counter hand him an envelope filled with money. Yet that’s just what happened, and once he found out where the money came from, Daniel was moved beyond words.

Daniel, a retired Marine and current country singer, was something of a regular at this particular location. About a month ago, he had dined in the restaurant and was waited on by cashier Marcus Henderson.

When his transaction had been completed, Marcus realized that Danny left behind his change, about three dollars. Instead of pocketing the small amount of cash, the young man carefully placed the money inside an envelope and set it aside, waiting until the next time he saw Danny.

“It was basically a part of my uniform,” Marcus said. “It was my name tag, my hat, my apron and I just put it in my back pocket, just in case today might be the day where I see him.”

On the day Danny returned, he was dumbfounded when he found out that Marcus had been guarding this paltry sum for all this time.

“It was like $3 and some change,” Daniel said. “I never would have missed it.” Yet it was the thought that counted, and he couldn’t wait to get on Facebook later that day to praise Marcus for his honesty.

“This young man here is a great American! I think it had been at least a month since I had eaten inside chick fil A, but I guess the last time I was in there I forgot to grab my change from my order. Well, today while Molly and I were there this young man came up to me with an envelope he had been hanging onto for over a month with my change and gave it to me. What a breath of fresh air and what a helluva guy!!!”

Everything Lubbock

As for Marcus, he just wants people to know that he’s flattered by the attention, but he feels his actions were motivated by a higher power.

“Monday during lunch I saw Dan and his little girl come in and after they sat down I walked over and handed him the change back thinking that was it and no one was going to know about this besides the Lord and I,” he explained on Facebook. “So, yeah that’s it. A small act of kindness motivated by the desire to be obedient to Jesus!! So glad this has encouraged people.”

No matter what his motivation, we can all agree that this kind act is worthy of praise, and more people should try to do the right thing… even when no one is watching.
