Even though it can be tough to remember when your kids are at each other’s throats, siblings do share a bond that’s unlike any other kind of relationship.

Aundrea Smith of Connecticut recently saw this bond at play when she snapped a picture of her daughter, Charlee, celebrating her preschool graduation day. In the now-viral photo, Aundrea’s 8-year-old son Derek has wrapped up his 5-year-old sister in a big hug, and the look on their faces is absolutely priceless.

Just look at the love and emotion etched on their little faces! After Aundrea shared this photo on her Instagram, the picture went viral with more than 22,000 likes. “Today my daughter graduated from Pre-K,” Aundrea wrote in the caption. “After the ceremony, my son walked up to her and gave her a hug. ‘I’m just so proud of you’ he said. Then, of course, my daughter started crying.”

When Aundrea’s husband Michael asked the little girl, “Pumpkin, why are you crying?”She responded, “I’m just so happy.”Aww!

The proud mom says that Charlee really looks up to her big brother, so her emotional reaction to his hug was unsurprising. “She admires him so much,”she explained. “At home, she follows him around [and] wants to do everything he does.â€

The picture was flooded with supportive comments from parents all over who would love to see this sort of thing in their own children. Aundrea says that the family plans to frame the picture and hang it in their living room as a reminder of Charlee’s special day – and of the ever-present love they feel as brother and sister.

“It was such a great moment for us seeing him so moved and happy. We were like, ‘We’re not doing so bad! They love each other.'”

Aundrea ended her post with a reminder to “Tag someone below who is a blessing in your life. Let them know how much they mean to you. And if you can’t tag them call them, text them, or write them a letter. It’s important that we share joy.”

We couldn’t agree more! Thank you for sharing this beautiful moment with us, Aundrea. Your children are a shining example of the relationship we hope our own kids have some day. Please share some joy yourself by spreading this sweet moment far and wide.
