If you saw the above prompt on an application for an Ivy League university, you might be inclined to write an essay on how much you love volunteering, tutoring, or reading. After all, you’d think that’s the kind of thing Admissions Officers want to hear! But one teen from Brentwood, Tennessee saw that prompt on an application for Yale and chose to write about her true passion…

Pizza.

Yes, you read that right. Carolina Williams applied to Yale with an essay on her love for pizza, Papa John’s pizza to be specific. And it was truly glorious.

Sheer poetry.

What’s even crazier than the fact Carolina did this? It worked!

Luckily for Carolina, the Admissions Officer at Yale is a fellow pizza-lover, and she was offered a spot at the exclusive university!

“I kept thinking you are the kind of person that I would love to be best friends with.”

When the folks at Papa John’s saw Carolina’s tweet, they responded with a personalized video (featuring Papa John himself) offering Carolina a pizza party for her dorm, free pizza for a year, and a spot in their summer internship program!

As you heard Papa John say, Carolina pulled a major plot twist on us by choosing Auburn University– not Yale– as the place where she’ll be taking her passion for pizza.

Papa Johns even sent her some War Eagle swag to celebrate.

Carolina, we wish you the best of luck in college! We’re sure with that year’s supply of free pizza, you’ll have no problem making friends.
