Southwest Flight Attendant Stumbles On Post-It, Reads Sweet Note & Vows To Find Owner.

Flight attendants spend a lot of time in and around airports, and they most likely don’t pay a lot of attention to the stray scraps of paper they might see hanging around the terminal.

Yet one day in Indianapolis International Airport, Southwest Airlines flight attendant Brooke Miller happened to be chatting with some colleagues near the airline kiosks when she looked down and saw something that made her say, “Aw.” There on the floor was a crumpled Post-It note with a childish drawing on the front and back.

“Dear Daddy, I miss you a lot,” the note read. “But I know I will see you on Wednesday. I love you.”It was written by a little girl named Claire.

On the back of the note the child had drawn a picture of herself and her daddy. Since the note was dated 2007, Brooke knew immediately that this was a very special token for someone. Picturing a weary traveler who had been carrying the cherished note in his wallet for the past 11 years, Brooke knew she had to do something to try to get it back to its rightful owner..

Brooke shared a photo of the note on her social media pages and spread the word that she was hoping to find the dad who’d lost Claire’s note.

“I realize this is a long, long shot, but it’s better than none at all,” Brooke wrote. “I work for an amazing company, an amazing airline. We pride ourselves on connecting people to what’s important in their lives; it’s embedded in our everyday mission. This post-it note is now my mission! Tonight, August 10th, two of my cohearts & I found this on the floor near the Southwest kiosks in Indianapolis. Notice the date? Someone has been carrying this around in their wallet since 2007. Eleven years. Eleven. I don’t know what the story or situation is that lives behind this worn piece of paper, but there’s clearly a reason it’s been with someone for the last decade. ‘To Daddy, From Claire.’ Please share so we can reunite this with its owner!”

After Brooke’s story went viral, a man did in fact reach out to Brooke to claim the note. She’s working on verifying that he is indeed her mystery dad!
