Broadway Cast Reunites For Stunning Virtual Performance Of “You’ve Got A Friend.”

Cast members and musicians from Broadway are here to remind us that we’re not alone.

With performing arts centers shuttered in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, countless stars of the stage are turning their attention to helping others endure the storm. That’s why more than 80 crew members from “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical” came together to record one of King’s greatest hits.

The Broadway show has been a fan favorite since it opened in 2014 and has won multiple awards, including a Tony, an Olivier, and a Grammy.

In a video shared on CBS This Morning, we see some of Broadway’s best and brightest take the virtual stage for “You’ve Got A Friend.” The powerful words they sing couldn’t be more perfect in this time of social distancing!

Managing to be both moving and hilarious, each of them puts their own unique spin on the song. Many also include their kids and handwritten notes of encouragement.

At the end of the clip, we even catch a glimpse of Carole King herself as she delivers the moving last line.

The result is stunning, and their mission is even more impressive! They’re using this virtual performance to raise awareness and money for The Actors Fund, a national organization that is helping struggling people in the arts world.
