Bride & Groom Show Up To Reception In Cop Car & The Story Has Guests Cracking Up.

It was a beautiful day for a wedding. After the ceremony, the guests were anxious to greet the bride and groom at the reception hall to celebrate their matrimony in style, so they mingled outside and waited.

And waited… and waited.

Sian and Josh Chapman had just tied the knot at All Saints Church in North Hykeham, England. After the ceremony, they jumped into a vintage 1930s car and excitedly headed towards the reception hall, only to find the car sputtering and stalling at the Swinderby roundabout. While there are no photos of that exact moment, we can only imagine Sian in her wedding dress, stranded on the roadside!

Thankfully, police officer Mark Wood of Lincolnshire Police happened to be driving by. He stopped to lend a hand, inadvertently providing the couple with that time-honored tradition of “something blue.”

Next thing Sian and Josh’s guests knew, the newlyweds came rolling up to the reception in the backseat of a police car.

Now that’s how you make an entrance!

Sian’s sister Gemma King later tweeted out her thanks to PC Wood for saving her sister’s big day. She says as she and the other guests waited, they were definitely getting a bit worried as the minutes ticked by and the guests of honor were nowhere to be found.

“It was a lovely wedding and then we all headed off to wait for them at the reception, about five miles away,” Gemma stated. “We were hopeful everything would be ok. We then panicked when we saw a police car coming down the track with its siren and blue lights on. Then we saw my sister and we thought it might have been a joke.”

Gemma later posted a picture of her sister’s funny wedding entrance on Twitter, along with a personal note thanking PC Wood for saving the day.

That’s definitely unforgettable! In fact, PC Wood’s supervisor, Assistant Chief Constable Kerrin Wilson, was quick to say how pleased the department was to be on hand to help out. “It is not something he will ever forget and no doubt they won’t either,” she laughed.

We do love a happy ending! Congratulations, Sian and Josh. May your life together be filled with pleasant surprises just like this.
