Scared Girl’s 1st Jump Of Diving Board Has The Most Heartwarming Ending.

Remember when you took that first big leap off a diving board? Remember how you were so scared, your toes literally curled over the edge of the board?

At the time, it probably seemed like such a long fall that you may as well be jumping off a cliff or out of a plane. We’re betting you were just as paralyzed by fear as the young girl in this video.

New York resident, Hannah Waitt, took the heart-warming clip during an outing to Barton Springs Pool in Austin, Texas. It’s an outdoor swimming area fed by water from natural springs, and it’s a popular gathering spot for locals and visitors alike, especially when they need to cool off on a hot summer afternoon.

On that particular day, everyone there got to witness a historic event in this little girl’s life: Her first-ever jump off a diving board.

But she doesn’t jump right in, of course. She actually stands there for quite a while, trying to drum up her courage and maybe even doing a quick life-in-review. If this is the end, did she do everything she shoulda, coulda, woulda?

Meanwhile, the man to her left — we’re guessing that’s Dad — stands just an arm’s length away and encourages her on. She bounces a few times, but that’s as far as she gets. So he bends his knees and leaps on in…

Then bobs back to the surface and gazes up at her. “See?” he seems to say. “Piece of cake.”

We’re all on pins and needles at this point. She probably knew, at most, only a handful of people who were there that day, but all these strangers know exactly how she was feeling, and how much courage it takes to take such a leap of faith. And she doesn’t disappoint!

In case you need some encouragement today, here’s a video of a little girl jumping off the diving board for the first time as the entire pool cheers her on
