It’s not every day that you get to meet your idol, especially when that idol happens to be one of the most popular singers on the planet.
During a recent taping of “The Late Late Show with James Corden,” boy band TNT Boys got the surprise of their young lives. After doing an interview with James, who is also the host of the CBS talent competition “The World’s Best,” that the Filipino threesome are competing on, the boys got ready to perform.
The boys had just taken a 12-hour flight to be on the show, but you can still see the excitement in their eyes as they chat with James about being on “World’s Best.” Calling them, “my favorite new boy band on planet earth,” James asks the kids who their favorite singer is, knowing full well it’s pop superstar Ariana Grande.
“I love Ariana Grande’s voice and I love her attitude,” one of the boys gushes as the others nod their heads in agreement. Meanwhile, Ariana herself is watching backstage!
Ariana recently made history as the first solo artist to have the top three consecutive songs on the Billboard Top 100. For reference, the first (and only other) band to ever achieve this honor was the Beatles back in 1964! As she prepares for her “Sweetener” world tour, Ariana made some time to swing by James’s show to blow the minds of these three rising pop stars.
The TNT Boys begin singing “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going,” and we’re reminded why they’ve been making waves all over the web. These kids are seriously talented, not to mention adorable!
Speaking of adorable, midway through their song the queen of cute herself appears, dressed in her signature oversize sweatshirt and thigh-high boots. The looks on the boys’ faces as she comes out are 100 percent precious!
Ariana helps the boys finish their song, but it’s clear that they’re utterly star-struck as they realize their favorite singer is there to give them hugs and love. They can barely contain their glee, but ever the professionals, they manage to keep it together until the song is over.
After the show, the boys expressed their joy on Instagram, sharing a photo with the caption, “Still can’t believe that we were able to sing with ate @arianagrande! “Ate” means “older sister” in Filipino! For sure, Filipinos are so happy for this! Thank you so much @j_corden for this opportunity! We love youuuu!”
What a special moment for these kids! We just love how kind Ariana is with her fans. She knows how to keep it real, and we’re so happy for her for setting records and blazing trails as a singer/songwriter!
