The goal of any animal rescue group is to help animals. Sometimes that means finding domesticated animals a loving forever home, and other times it means returning wild animals to their natural habitat.
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) is the world’s oldest and largest charity for animal welfare. Their focus is on rescuing, rehoming, rehabilitating, or releasing animals around the world, with a particular focus on England and Wales.
The RSPCA puts a lot of thought and research into releasing animals back into the wild. Once an animal is healthy enough for release, they consider factors like season, weather, food and water sources, and predation to give them the best shot at survival. The video below shows a wide variety of successful animal releases, from flocks of birds to big cats, bears, elephants, foxes, and every other critter you can imagine. It’s a sweet reminder that animal rescuers around the world have the utmost respect for the animals with whom we share our world.
