Alanis Morissette Debuts New Song But 4-Yr-Old Can’t Resist Interrupting.

It’s been eight years since Alanis Morissette released a new album, and since then, a lot has changed.

Today, the singer is a mom of three who understands the struggles of juggling work and parenthood all too well, especially during the novel coronavirus pandemic. Like millions of other moms and dads, she’s working from home with a barrage of adorable distractions – namely, her 4-year-old daughter Onyx.

In July, Morissette debuted a song from her latest album, “Such Pretty Forks in the Road,” in a virtual performance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

Because “Ablaze” was written for her children, it only made sense for her to include a special guest in the big moment: her daughter!

Of course, Onyx doesn’t see a famous star when she looks at Morissette – she just sees her mom! As such, she interacted with her the same way she always does… which was a bit distracting.

At one point, Onyx interrupts Morissette to say, “Hi, Mom!” Later on, she covers Morissette’s mouth and questions her choice of lyrics.

Showing off her seemingly endless patience, Morissette takes it all in stride, even making time to talk to Onyx between lines!

The resulting performance has left thousands falling in love! Sure, it wasn’t perfect, but it gave us a beautiful peek into their relationship. Not to mention, it wonderfully represented Morissette’s powerful message to her kids: “My mission is to keep the light in your eyes ablaze.”

Is this the cutest song debut ever? We certainly think so! It’s obvious that Morissette is an even better mom than she is a musician (which is really saying something), and her little one absolutely adores her!
