Yesterday, a reddit user called dreichert87 posted the photo below to the site along with the following caption: “My niece is in 5th grade and got her first love note. This 5th grader has more game than I’ll ever have.” The photo is of a handwritten note on animal-print paper… and it is probably one of the cutest things we’ve ever shared.

“Dear Abby,” reads the note. “Your eyes remind me of the evening sky. My heart felt like broken glass until I saw you, and then, I felt like I had every Pokémon ever. I love how you play Zelda even when people think its weird. If you liked me, it would be my first ever victory.”

From Pokémon to Zelda, this is possibly the greatest, nerdiest love story of all time.
One reddit user joked in the comments, “No need to cover the name, clearly Shakespeare.” Another added, “Girls these days have so much pressure on them. I remember when I was younger, girls only had to make guys feel the worth of 151 Pokémon. Now, there’s 726! How is a girl supposed to live up to these extremely high standards?”
Unfortunately, this story has a rather sad ending. The original poster confirmed that Abby did not go for the boy who wrote the letter, but we have a feeling this elementary-school-Romeo will woo again someday!
