No matter who we are or where we are in our lives, we all sometimes need a little pick-me-up. Whether it’s in the form of a perfect latte or a conversation with an old friend, there are plenty of ways to cheer yourself when you’re feeling down. And those little bits of joy come from the unlikeliest sources.
Today, it’s these quotes spoken by everyone’s favorite frog— Kermit— that have us feeling inspired.
“Just because you haven’t found your talent yet doesn’t mean you don’t have one.”
“Life’s like a movie. Write your own ending.”
“Here’s some advice. Always be yourself. Never take yourself too seriously. And beware of advice from experts, pigs, and members of Parliament.”
“With good friends, you can’t lose.”
“When you decide what your Big Dream is, you’ll be bursting with enthusiasm and want to share it with everybody. Most everybody will give you one of those ‘OK, that’s nice, now please pass the ketchup’ looks. Some will scoff, suggesting that whatever your Big Dream is, it’s too big for you. And a select few will whisper words of encouragement. My advice is this: Pass the ketchup. Ignore the scoffers. And remember those words of encouragement ‘cause they’re the only ones that matter.”
“[I’ve got a dream] about singing and dancing and making people happy. That’s the kind of dream that gets better the more people you share it with.”
“Take a look above you. Discover the view. If you haven’t noticed, please do.”
“As you start traveling down the road of life, remember this: There are never enough comfort spots. The places you’re going are never on the map.”
“Changes happen as life passes by. Soon enough, you’ll be grown.”
“I’m not giving up! I’m still here and I’m staying.”
“What’s on the other side? Rainbows are visions, but only illusions. Rainbows have nothing to hide, so we’ve been told, and some choose to believe it. I know they’re wrong, wait and see. Someday we’ll find it—the rainbow connection—the lovers, the dreamers, and me.”
“If life were easy, it wouldn’t be difficult.”
“Never worry about failure. It’s going to happen. But that’s okay… Take chances and you might just find that what feels like failure isn’t failure at all. It’s what inspires you to dream even bigger.”
“Finally, there’s one other thing that I think every person or frog needs to be creative: friends. For me, the best part of creativity is collaborating with friends and colleagues. Mine happen to be bears, pigs, rats and penguins, but you go with what works for you.”
For a frog, that guy is pretty wise.
If this little green blast from the past lifted your spirits, share the wisdom with your friends!
