1. The last house on Holland Island, Chesapeake Bay.

1850’s Holland Island was home to a bustling community, complete with its own post office, two-room school house, community center and even a doctor. By the turn of the century, most everyone on the island left for the mainland due to widespread flooding and land erosion.
