This video may be an old Youtube hit, but it’s definitely worth watching again today. And every day for that matter.

Matt Woodrum inspired millions with his determination and courage to show that he could compete with his classmates, despite having spastic cerebral palsy. He decided to enter the schools longest race, the 400M. For Matt, it wasn’t so much about winning as it was about proving to himself and others that he could overcome the hurdles in his life.

USA Today reported Matt having this to say about the race: “I knew I would finish it, but there were a couple of parts of the race where I really felt like giving up.”

Thanks to his P.E. coach John Blaine and his fellow classmates Matt didn’t give up. With his coach and classmates cheering him on through the finish, Matt was able to prove himself right, and inspire others along the way.
