It was all in good fun, but the corporate office has shut down a light-hearted battle of words that a Wendy’s franchise in Texas waged earlier this month with its neighbor across the street.
The fast food franchise and a tea company flung witticisms across an intersection in Lubbock for several days. Then the story went viral, leaving online viewers cheering them on and vying for more.
The whole thing started earlier this month, when Pure Water Ice & Tea Company put up a note on its outside sign board, offering free drinks to Kliff Kingsbury, the head football coach at Texas Tech, located in Lubbock.

When Wendy’s responded with the same offer — well, drinks and food — Pure Water called them out, essentially calling them copycats.

Then Pure Water had the audacity to take a shot at the pigtailed girl who serves as the Wendy’s logo.

Guess Wendy’s won’t be picking any more fights, but Pure Water … they’re a pretty feisty bunch so guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
