Blake Shelton & Usher Sing Hauntingly Beautiful “Stand By Me” For Hurricane Victims.

Last night, hundreds of celebrities came together to put on a massive telethon fundraiser for the victims of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. Fundraising efforts continue, but as of this writing, Hand In Hand has raised more than $14 million!

Over the course of the evening, celebs like George Clooney, Beyoncé, Sean “Diddy” Combs, and Sofia Vergara told uplifting stories of survival and heartbreaking tales of loss, but a common theme overshadowed it all – our nation had come together to do something bigger than any one person.

As celebrities encouraged people to call in, others did their part to show rather than tell. Performances from George Strait and Miranda Lambert, Tori Kelly and Luis Fonsi, and Demi Lovato and Brad Paisley demonstrated how people from all walks of life came together.

But one particular song, performed by Usher and Blake Shelton, tugged at the heartstrings of everyone watching.

They chose “Stand By Me,” and their rendition of the song – their voices blending beautifully – captivated the audience at Nashville’s historic Grand Ole Opry.

Usher almost seemed out of place in the famed country music hall, but his soulful voice inspired a hauntingly silent reverence from those in the audience.

When Blake came in, though, cheers filled the massive performance venue.
