A chance encounter at a medical supply store led to a young man with Down syndrome having the best night of his life.
When Anthony Yorfido tried to get tickets to an upcoming Aerosmith show in Welland, Ontario, a few years ago, he was devastated to find the tickets were sold out. Later that week, walking into the medical supply store, Anthony and his mom Diane noticed a limousine out front and a very familiar face browsing for a back brace.
“I’m looking at him and I know his face, but I couldn’t think of his name.” But Anthony did. “He goes, ‘Oh, my God! Steven Tyler, is that you?'”
Anthony ran over to the rock legend and gave him the biggest hug he could muster. Tyler hugged him back, kissed him and his mom on the forehead for good measure, and then asked if they were going to the show that night.
Diane told Tyler about their ticket conundrum, to which he replied, “Oh, don’t worry about that, you guys are coming with me. I’ll get you backstage passes.”Â
But Tyler had an even bigger surprise in store for Anthony.
And so we find Steven Tyler and his new buddy, Anthony, jamming out on stage in front of thousands of fans in the video below. Anthony will never forget this day.
